Job Title: Large Format Operator

I. POSITION SUMMARY

The Large Format operator is responsible for insuring best practices within the Large Format department. Large Format operator is responsible for setting up equipment for quality and accuracy, while maximizing
efficiency.

Large Format operator will be proficient with setting up and troubleshooting Canon Arizona 550XT flatbed, HP Latex roll printer, Zund cutter, Summa vinyl cutter, laminator, and other misc. equipment. Operators will help support any other duties as needed in the production process.

This position will require problem solving skills according to the needs of the customer and Large Format department. This position will also require our operators, at times, to think creatively on their feet to come up with new and unique solutions or processes in order to accomplish custom project requests. Operators will provide support to internal departments as
workflow requires. This individual must also be able to establish and maintain a strong relationship with all other production department staff.

The Large Format operator must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

II. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Large Format operator needs to identify and resolve issues on the production floor as they pertain to, or have impact to, Bolger Direct or customers from a Large Format quality and efficiency stand point. Operator will need to follow up with necessary personnel to assure appropriate action was taken and the issue is resolved.

2. Large Format operator must follow all ISO 9001 processes to assure quality and accuracy of produced products for Bolger Direct customers.

3. Large Format operator must understand packaging of materials as to meet
requirements as it pertains to quality deliver of finished products.

4. Large Format operator must be trainable and understand and utilize EFI
Monarch/Hagen system for job cost time, inventory control and removal of
materials from WIP.

5. Properly and accurately communicate to internal customers on any Large Format quality issues, or concerns, and have them resolved to meet the client
expectations on quality and on time delivery.

6. Assure all department QC checks are being completed per Bolger ISO 9001 processes.

7. Builds relationship to facilitate changes to insure Bolger Direct Large Format department is compliant to meet the lowest possible price point without jeopardizing quality.

8. Work with all Bolger Direct departments to facilitate efficient handling to insure timely and accurate completion of requirements necessary to meet our customer requirements.

9. Must be able to handle multiple projects/tasks at any given time and be able to prioritize as needed.

10. Perform and record routine preventive maintenance on Large Format equipment to minimize equipment downtime.

11. Demonstrate positive attitude, dependability and be engaged with Managers, Supervisors, Leads and team members.

12. Assist in implementing and identified opportunities to increase Bolger Value Add Revenue.

13. Create and support though communication a safe work environment.

14. Must have good basic math skills and Intermediate Computer skills.

15. Must support and participate in all internal training as it supports Bolger’s customer expectations on compliancy certifications.

16. Must have the ability to use pallet jacks for material movement.

17. Must be able to lift large format products into the printing devices.

III. Required Skills and Attributes

 Must be able to set up and trouble shoot Canon Arizona Flatbed printer, Latex printer, Zund & Summa cutters and laminating equipment
 Intermediate Computer skills with knowledge of Onyx rip software. Adobe Creative Cloud a huge plus with emphasis on custom Illustrator imposition layout
 Ability to advance and learn new equipment
 Strong relationship building skills
 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgency and time constraints
 Must be a team player, believing there is always a better way
 Experienced in using shop floor data collection system
 Good verbal and written communication skills
 Analytical and problem-solving skills

IIII. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum High school education is required. Knowledge in support of Large Format capabilities and equipment in a production printing facility with a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience.

Ability to handle multiple task functions in a fast pace, high demand environment.

Must be self-motivated and able to take direction from numerous sources.

Must be able to trouble shoot and resolve problems independently or through others. Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to work autonomously, with little direction, and possess good organizational skills.

Must possess strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple simultaneous activities with little supervisory direction.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more on occasion. Majority of the day will be spent bending, reaching, lifting and walking. Moderate noise level due to operation of machinery that can be intense. Minor workspace restrictions and moderate exposure to dirt and dust. Working near continual rotating moving and mechanical parts. The job is subject to interruptions and production schedule changes at times to meet customer satisfaction.
