Job Title:  Mailing Operator

Mailing Operator is responsible for insuring best practices within the Mailing department.

 

Job Summary

The Mailing Operator is responsible for setting up equipment for quality and accuracy, while maximizing efficiency. Mailing Operator will be proficient on setting up and troubleshooting Inserters and Ink Jet equipment, along with any other duties as needed in the production process. Mailing Operator must understand USPS requirements on presort and 1st class mail sorting, tray tags and pallet placard. This position will require problem solving skills according to the needs of the customer and mailing department. Mailing Operator will provide support to internal departments as workflow requires. This individual must also be able to establish and maintain a strong relationship with all other production department staff. The Mailing Operator must be able to work effectively will minimal supervision.

 Responsibilities:

  1. Mailing operator needs to identify and resolve issues on the production floor as they pertain or may impact Bolger Direct or customers from a machine mailing quality and efficiency stand point. Operator will need to follow up with necessary personnel to assure appropriate action was taken and the issue is resolved.
  2. Must understand USPS mailing requirements as it pertains to mail sorting.
  3. Mailing operator must follow all ISO 9001 processes to assure quality and accuracy of produced products for Bolger Direct customers.
  4. Mailing Operator must be trainable and understand and utilize EFI Monarch system for job cost time, inventory control and removal of materials from WIP.
  5. Properly and accurately communicate to internal customers on any mailing quality issues or concerns and have them resolved to meet the client expectations on quality and on time delivery.
  6. Assure all department QC checks are being completed per Bolger ISO 9001 processes.
  7. Builds relationship to facilitate changes to insure the Machine Mailing Department is compliant to meet the lowest possible price point without jeopardizing quality.
  8. Work with all Bolger Direct departments to facilitate efficient handling to insure timely and accurate completion of requirements necessary to meet our customer requirements.
  9. Must be able to handle multiple projects/tasks at any given time and be able to prioritize as needed.
  10. Perform and record routine preventive maintenance on mailing equipment to minimize equipment downtime and ensure safe and efficient operation of machines.
  11. Demonstrate positive attitude, dependability and be engaged with Managers, Supervisors, Leads and team members.
  12. Assist in implementing and identifying opportunities to increase Bolger Value Add Revenue.
  13. Keep work areas neat and clean for customers/visitor and in support of a safe work environment for all team members.
  14. Must have good basic math skills.
  15. Must support and participate in all internal training as it supports Bolger’s customer expectations on compliancy certifications.
  16. Must have the ability to use pallet jacks for material movement.

Qualifications:

Minimum High school education is required. Knowledge in support of Mailing inserters and Ink Jet capabilities and equipment in a production printing facility with a minimum of 3 years’ experience. Ability to handle multiple task functions in a fast pace, high demand environment.  Must be self-motivated and able to take direction from numerous sources. Must be able to trouble shoot and resolve problems independently or through others.  Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to work autonomously, with little direction, and possess good organizational skills. Must possess strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple simultaneous activities with little supervisory direction.

Working Conditions:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Majority of the day will be spent bending, reaching, lifting and walking. Moderate noise level due to operation of machinery that can be intense. Minor workspace restrictions and moderate exposure to dirt and dust. Working near continual rotating moving and mechanical parts. The job is subject to interruptions and production schedule changes at times to meet customer satisfaction.
