Job Title: Purchaser

Position Summary:

The Purchaser reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for day to day purchasing of Raw and Finished Materials, contracting and working with vendors to obtain best price and production schedule. Develops sound working relationships with both vendors and potential vendors. Provides recommendations, information and services to ensure the completion of printed jobs within budget and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Performs all necessary administrative functions such as completing forms, reports, etc…
Works with all levels of employees internally and vendors externally.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Performs all necessary purchasing functions to ensure successful completion of job production and everyday Company needs.
  • Daily purchasing of substrates and supplies through PO Requisitions, working with scheduling to maintain schedule of printed materials. Maintains Digital Inventory as well through requisitions per specified jobs.
  • Ensures the highest quality product for lowest price procured. Maintains correct costing per Bolger Estimates.
  • All purchase orders are properly prepared, signed, and submitted as required. Confirms pricing and assists accounting with corrections to PO from invoices.
  • Places orders and ensures all orders are confirmed with a written purchase order. This includes preordering of materials for upcoming jobs.
  • Files and distributes purchase orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Reviews and analyzes job costs and billings with Sales on a request and as needed basis; Actual costs compared to estimates to identify exceptional situations warranting revision in estimating process.
  • Participates in the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other guidelines by which work is accomplished.
