Ann Taylor came to us with the desire to produce an exclusive first look of Spring items for their cardmembers that would deliver high brand engagement with a modest budget. To achieve their objective, we created a unique Mini Catalog self-mailer.
After listening to the clients needs, and hearing how they wanted card members to feel about the piece, we assembled our team of creative and production professionals to brainstorm solutions. We then created mockups of various formats for input and approval.
The Ann Taylor Mini Magazine is the size of a letter with a fold-over flap, eliminating the need for wafer seals while providing extra real-estate for a tip-on offer. The magazine was mailed at the letter rate (saving Ann Taylor over $100,000 in postage) and grabbed the customer’s attention with its unique flap and fugitive glue design. The design also featured and undersized interior wrap around the catalog pages in order to create a tactile user experience.
This is an example of an innovative and cost-saving format that Ann Taylor—and many other clients—has come back for again and again. The Mini Magazine self mailer has now been used nearly countless times and various size and page count formats for Ann.
